This is the question we get asked most often — and the honest answer is: it depends on what you're looking for. July and August offer guaranteed sunshine and the full holiday atmosphere, but you'll share the beaches with significantly more people. June and September give you almost everything the peak season offers, with a fraction of the crowds. Here's how we break it down.
Season by Season
June
Warm sea (24–26°C), very few crowds, all restaurants open, lower prices. The best month for beach days without competition for sun loungers. The island feels alive but not overwhelmed.
July & August
Hottest weather (32–36°C), sea at its warmest, full island atmosphere. Beaches get busy. Everything is open, evening village life is buzzing. Book well in advance.
September
Our personal favourite. The sea is at its warmest (27–28°C), days are still hot, but the island empties noticeably after mid-September. Restaurants are quieter, sunsets are golden.
May & October
Beautiful light, excellent for walking and sightseeing. The sea is cooler (20–22°C) but swimmable for the brave. Some restaurants close, but the village remains open and welcoming.
Our Honest Recommendations
Families with Children
Early July or the first half of September. The sea is warm enough for long swims, the weather is reliable, and the beaches are enjoyable without being packed. You get the full Greek island summer experience while still being able to find a table at your favourite taverna.
Couples & Adults
Late June or September without hesitation. The island is at its most beautiful — golden light, warm evenings, unhurried pace. You can eat dinner without a reservation at most restaurants, and the beaches feel like they belong to you.
Groups of Friends
July or August if you want the island to be fully alive — the harbour bars, the beach clubs, the late-night village energy. July and August in Antiparos is genuinely excellent, particularly if you book a house like ours and treat the island as your private base rather than a hotel.
The Meltemi (the famous Aegean summer wind) can blow strongly in July and August, particularly in the afternoons. Antiparos is more sheltered than most Cyclades islands because it sits behind Paros — but the wind does pick up. On windy days, head to the sheltered south-facing beaches like Agios Georgios.
About Our Houses in Each Season
Our five houses are comfortable from early June through late October. In June and September, evening temperatures can drop — the houses are well-insulated and retain the heat of the day well. In July and August, the sea breeze in the evenings is a natural air conditioner that makes sleeping comfortable without the need for air conditioning, though all our houses have it.
We typically open bookings from June 1st to October 15th. If you'd like to arrange something outside this window, contact us directly — we're flexible for guests who know the island.
Our houses fill up quickly for July and August — often a year in advance for the most popular weeks. If you have specific dates in mind for peak season, we recommend contacting us as early as possible.
